Einladung zu einem internationalen Showdown-Turnier in Zürich in der Zeit vom 23. bis 27. November 2022

Hallo, liebe Showdown-Community,

gestern erreichte uns nun die ganz bestimmt von vielen von euch schon sehnsüchtig erwartete Einladung zu den 1. Swiss-Open in der Zeit vom 23. Bis 27. November 2022. Zumindest haben ja sehr viele von euch bereits bei der Interessens-Abfrage ihr großes Interesse an diesem Turnier bekundet.

Abreise: 27. November 2022

Bei diesem Turnier handelt es sich um ein IBSA-Turnier.

Startberechtigt sind ausschließlich Spielerinnen und Spieler der Start-Klassen B1, B2 und B3, die dies entweder über einen gültigen internationalen Startpass oder über ein aktuelles augenärztliches Attest nachweisen können!

Gespielt wird an vier tschechischen Platten und mit schwedischen Bällen.

Teilnahme-Gebühr:

• 450 €

im Doppel-Zimmer

• 610 €

im Einzel-Zimmer

(Es gibt nur relativ wenige Einzel-Zimmer, daher gibt es auch keine Einzel-Zimmer-Garantie!)

In der Teilnahme-Gebühr inbegriffen sind:

• die Unterbringung
• Voll-Verpflegung

(beginnend mit dem Abendessen am Mittwochabend und endend mit dem Frühstück am Sonntagmorgen)

Transfer:

Der Veranstalter bietet einen Transfer von Flughafen bzw. Hauptbahnhof zum Hotel und zurück an.

Das Hotel „IBIS Styles Zürich City Center”, welches zugleich auch die Spielstätte ist, befindet sich nur ca. 7 Gehminuten vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt und ist somit auch gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Auch vom Flughafen ist es sehr gut erreichbar.

Wer sich dafür entscheiden sollte, den Weg vom Flughafen bzw. Hauptbahnhof zum Hotel und zurück mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zurückzulegen, der kann auch nach entsprechender vorheriger Anmeldung gern am Zug bzw. Flug-Gate abgeholt und zum entsprechenden öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel gebracht werden. Ebenso besteht die Möglichkeit, sich von der Haltestelle aus abholen und zum Hotel bringen zu lassen.

Für diejenigen, die einen direkten Transfer vom Flughafen bzw. Hauptbahnhof und zurück bevorzugen, würden Kosten in Höhe von

• 20 € bei Abholung vom Flughafen (2 x 20 €)

sowie

• 10 € bei Abholung vom Hauptbahnhof (2 x 5 €)

anfallen.

Wer bereits früher an- bzw. erst später wieder abreisen möchte, kann zusätzlich auch noch weitere Übernachtungen

• im Doppel-Zimmer für 70 CHF (entspricht derzeit in etwa dem €) pro Person

Inklusive Frühstück

dazu buchen.

Stornierung:

• Stornierung bis zum 15. September 2022

Rückerstattung von 90 % der Teilnahme-Gebühr

• Stornierung bis zum 30 Oktober 2022:

Rückerstattung von 50 % der Teilnahme-Gebühr

• Stornierung nach dem 30. Oktober 2022:

Ab diesem Zeitpunkt sind keinerlei Rückerstattungen mehr möglich!

Und hier noch eine wichtige Information:

Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass nur 4 tschechische Platten und auch nur eine gewisse Anzahl von Übernachtungs-Möglichkeiten besteht, kann es passieren, dass seitens des Veranstalters leider nicht alle Anmeldungen berücksichtigt werden können!

Modalitäten der Verteilung der verfügbaren Plätze auf die einzelnen Länder:

Es gibt keine maximale Anzahl an Spielerinnen bzw. Spielern, sondern nur eine maximale Obergrenze für beide Geschlechter insgesamt

Sollten mehr Anmeldungen eingehen als Start-Plätze vorhanden sind, dann erhalten

• Länder, die im Rahmen der Interessens-Abfrage, ihr Interesse bekundet haben, 8 Start-Plätze

und

• Länder, die ihr Interesse im Rahmen der Interessens-Abfrage nicht bekundet haben, 4 Start-Plätze.

Auf unsere Interessens-Abfrage hin haben sich 10 Spielerinnen und 15 Spieler sowie 5 Coaches bzw. Begleit-Personen gemeldet.

Es wird seitens des Veranstalters darum gebeten, dass die einzelnen Länder vorab eine gewisse Priorisierung ihrer Spielerinnen und Spieler vornehmen sollten.

Für den Fall, dass es mehr Anmeldungen als Start-Plätze gibt, würde dann eine Warteliste erstellt, von der zuerst diejenigen Spielerinnen bzw. Spieler gestrichen würden, die sich auf der Priorisierungs-Liste der einzelnen Länder ganz unten befinden.

Der Veranstalter wird innerhalb einer Woche nach dem Anmelde-Schluss beim Veranstalter (25. Juni 2022) all diejenigen informieren, die vorerst einmal keinen Start-Platz zugewiesen bekommen konnten und ihnen anbieten, sie auf die Warteliste zu setzen.

Zugegebenermaßen ist dieses Prozedere einerseits ein wenig kompliziert. Andererseits erhofft sich der Veranstalter so, eine möglichst große Transparenz schaffen zu können, damit auch alle die Vorgehensweise gut nachvollziehen können.

In diesem Zusammenhang habe ich auch bereits den SVD-Vorstand kontaktiert, um zu erfragen, inwieweit es schon irgendwelche Überlegungen gibt, wie eine solche „nationale Priorisierungs-Liste“ eventuell aussehen könnt.

Dem Vorstand ist es sehr wichtig, dass alle wissen, dass wir natürlich hoffen, dass möglichst viele bzw. bestenfalls alle angemeldeten Spielerinnen und Spieler an diesem Turnier teilnehmen können.

Allerdings sollen sich alle darüber im Klaren sein, dass auch der Fall eintreten kann, dass nicht alle an diesem Turnier teilnehmen können und dann eine Priorisierungs-Liste erstellt werden müsste!

Sollte eine solche Priorisierungs-Liste erstellt werden, dann ist jetzt schon klar, dass die Reihenfolge der eingegangenen Anmeldungen auf gar keinen Fall eine Rolle spielen wird!

Zudem bittet der Vorstand alle darum, einmal zu überlegen, inwieweit sich insbesondere die Spielerinnen und Spieler, die in diesem Jahr bereits an mehreren internationalen Turnieren teilgenommen haben, vorstellen könnten, zugunsten der Spielerinnen und Spieler, die in diesem Jahr noch gar keine oder nur sehr wenige internationale Turniere gespielt haben, zurückzutreten?!

Invitation

The Swiss Showdown Association invites you to the first international showdown tournament in
Switzerland

1^st Zurich Open

Date:

November 23-27,2022

Location (accommodation and competition):

Hotel Ibis Styles Zurich City Center

This hotel is situated in the center of Zurich, with seven minutes walking distance to both the main train station and the old town. It can conveniently be reached from both the airport and the main station by public transportation or (from the main station) even by walking.

Program:

Arrival: Wednesday 23^rd after lunch.

Opening ceremony: Wednesday 23^rd after dinner.

Competition: Thursday 24^th – Saturday 26^th.

Closing Ceremony: Saturday 26^th.

Departure: Sunday 27^th after breakfast.

Participation Fee:

450 EUR with accommodation in double room.

 

610 EUR with accommodation in single room (there is no guarantee for a single room).

The participation fee includes four nights and meals from Wednesday dinner up to Sunday breakfast as well as guided transfers by public transportation on arrival and departure from either the airport or the main station.

Competition:

The competition will be held according to the actual IBSA showdown rules and you will receive IBSA ranking points. There will be four Czech tables and we will play with Swedish balls.

Number of players:

Since we have only four tables and a limited amount of hotel beds available, we might be forced to limit the number of players. How this will be handled is described in the appendix of this document.

Registration process:

Deadline for handing in entry form: June 25,2022.

Email for handing in entry forms: zurich-open@swiss-showdown.ch.

After this deadline we will decide within one week whether we can accept all players and accompanying persons. If this is not possible, we will inform those people whom we cannot include in the tournament and offer them to be put on the waiting list.

At the same time we will send the invoices with payment instructions and the second entry form where we collect information about arrival and departure times and your needs for transportation and special food.

Deadline for payment: August 15,2022.

Proof of visual impairment:

According to the IBSA guidelines for tournaments providing ranking points, we need a certificate by an actual medical doctor which testifies that the eyesight of the player is in the range for B1, B2 or B3. Players who already have a valid IBSA classification don’t have to provide such a certificate.

Refund policy:

Cancellation up to September 15: 90% refund.

Cancellation up to October 30:           50% refund.

Cancellation after October 30:            No refund.

Transportation

We will offer transfers from both Zurich airport and Zurich main station.

If you decide to do the transfer by public transportation, you will be picked up at the platform or the arrival gate and guided to the train or tram. From the destination you will be guided to the hotel. This kind of transfer is included in the participation fee.

If you prefer a transfer by shuttle directly to the hotel, this will be available for a fee of 10 EUR (airport) or 5 E UR (train station) per person for one way

Extended stay

If you decide to extend your stay in Zurich (what we consider a good idea «), we can offer you a rate of 70 CHF (almost the same in EUR) for one person in a double room, breakfast included.

Appendix

Limitation of number of players and waiting list

Although it might look a bit complicated, we want to provide full transparency of the modalities to distribute the available number of places to the several countries.

If there are too many registrations handed in by the entry forms, the number of players is limited as follows:

Important:

Countries should fill in the players in the entry form according to their priority for participation.

There is not a maximum number of players per gender. The maximum is valid for both genders together.

The assignment of players per country is done strictly according to the order in the entry form, independent of gender.

Countries who announced their interest according to the call for pre-registration will get the right for 8 participants, the other countries will get the right for 4 participants. It there are more players on the entry form, they will be picked in the order in which they appear on the list.

Too many players

If, after picking players from the forms according to the above rules, there are more players than we can handle, players will be removed from the list starting with the last player of the country with the most participants, continuing with the next country and so on.

Two few players

If, after picking players from the forms according to the above rules, there are less players than we can handle, additional players are picked from the entry forms starting with the country with the most players, continuing with the next country and so on.

Waiting List

Whenever a player is removed from the participation list (by not paying the fee, by cancelation or by failing to provide the vi-certificate) we will contact the next person on the waiting list. The procedures which then apply will depend on the situation.
